About Costa del Silencio

This resort located at the islands southern most tip was one of Tenerifes first tourist developments. Consisting of small fishing villages such as Costa Las Galletas you are assured good fresh fish in the local restaurants.

As the name suggests Costa del Silencio is quieter than some holiday resorts being conveniently situated only 20 minutes by taxi from the main airport. There are several well run, modern complexes the majority of which have pools and family facilities. The area is served by many fine restaurants together with a good choice of supermarkets. The local bus service means that the busier resorts of Los Cristianos and Playa De Las Americas are 30 minutes away and car hire is reasonable.

The older Canarian fishing village of Las Galletas is a 15 minute walk away and in addition to the daily fish market and charming harbour has an unspoilt promenade with many friendly tapas bars and restaurants (speciality is mostly fish) where you can while away a morning or indeed the full day on the pretext of looking out for whales and dolphins which are by no means a rarity. Surfing and swimming also take place and if retail therapy is needed, there are no shortage of designer shops.

Las Galletas (our adjacent fishing village) has quite a few diving schools and the diving is considered to be among the top ten areas in the World.
